What does it look like when a mare has a relaxed tail area before birth? Should you feed your horse if you?

thinks she is about to go into the early stages of foaling? I think my mare is going to foal this week and am not sure what some of the signs look like. Also is it better to imprint your foal at birth or wait till the next day to start working with it? Any help would be great!
