Yes I can tell you family crests are a myth, a crest is the top part of a coat of arms and families don't own coats of arms and neither do surnames they belong to the person who was awarded the Arms and the 'family crest' is one big scam trying to sell people something that doesn't exist and play on peoples the ignorance about Heraldry.
