as to the mechanical issues, how long is that string in your pocket? guess you wont know till you turn it inside out and look, as far as paint this could get very expensive if you plan to do it yourself, as the professional painter that has to fix your inevitable mistakes will now charge you 3 times as much to repair them as he would have if you would have just let him do it in the first place, unless of course you could care less what it looks like, DIY paint jobs by the clueless always turn out bad.
